It’s that time of year again, and the Blue Ridge Bicycle Club & Hunter Subaru are thrilled to present the 19th Annual WNC Flyer Event on June 4th, 2023. As this biking event is fast-approaching, we’ve got all the important information you need to make your experience a memorable and enjoyable one. From the safe and courteous cycling guidelines to the various ride waves, we’ve got you covered.
First and foremost, we want to emphasize the safety of the cyclists. We urge all our participants to ride safely, legally, and courteously as they make their way through the scenic course. We have a goal of zero injuries or traffic violations, and we actively maintain a positive relationship with our community. It’s crucial to maintain all traffic laws and signals in order to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all the riders.
It’s important to note that the WNC Flyer is not a race. We won’t be recording or publishing any finishing times, so take your leisurely time through the ride. A rolling start strategy will also be employed, with Wave 1 departing at 8 am (Century (100mi), Metric (64mi) riders) and Wave 2 departing at 8:10 am (Half Century (50mi) and Half Metric (32mi) riders). Qualified Ride Ambassadors will be leading each ride and wave, ensuring a fun, safe, and secure experience for all.
